The forecourt and entrance to the Louvre. Fully armed soldiers patrolling this area today. Maybe a terrorist deterrent? Very hot under the pyramid. Amazingly below ground level is the moat of an old castle which you actually walk through. The stones of the castle and moat are still there. 11th or 12th century I think.
