Sindelfinden, Germany/Zurich, Switzerland 10 August 2010

Thanks to the various ones for the birthday wishes. As I'm writing it's 9pm on the birthday and I'm sipping a brave little red in our hotel in Zurich. Ah, the life of the jetsetter. Went to the best little German restaurant in the "world" (Errol) in Sindelfingen. Food was bloody magnificent.

Switzerland is definitely the most picturesque country we've been to so far. They seem to have tried to maintain their traditional building style which the French and Germans haven't. They also have the really green hillsides with pine forests. While we were waiting for our room to become available today we went for a walk in the big park opposite the hotel and ran into an old lady who spoke about 5 languages and had travelled in Australia with a nephew living in Blacktown (no comment) and our waiter tonight was Maltese with family at Ermington in Sydney. They both said we should go to the mountains but one said Lucerne and one said Interlaken so we'll see. They're both seriously big day trips.

The biggest problem we've had for the last few nights is that the hotels only have TV in German. So you can watch pretty much anything you want as long as it's in German. Guten nacht.
